Obituary of Charles J. Harris

Charles J. Harris, age 90, of Harrison Valley, PA, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Carleton Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA. He was born on August 30, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Edward and Margaret (Lyons) Harris. Charles retired as a lieutenant for the Philadelphia Police Department. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. Charles enjoyed feeding the catfish in ponds, mowing the lawn and having his friends visit his farm to hunt and shoot. Charles is survived by his sons, Charles J. (Kathy) Harris of Philadelphia, PA, Dennis (Tammy) Harris of York, PA, and Kevin (Claire) Harris of Furlong, PA; a daughter Colleen (John) Perilli of Chalfont, PA; fourteen grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Jules Paoletti. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Frank Harris; and two sisters, Aileen Nimon and Joan Paoletti. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
