Obituary of Roy James Cross

Roy James Cross, Sr., age 67, of Mainesburg, PA, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 26, 2021. He was born on April 18, 1954, in Blossburg, PA, a son of Clifford Cross, Sr. and Sarah (Aumick) Pfeifer. Roy was the husband of Elizabeth "Dolly" (Root) Cross with whom he enjoyed 49 years of matrimony. He was a former mail carrier and a heavy equipment operator for Cross Excavating and doing road maintenance for Sullivan Township along with subcontracting work on the Sullivan Trail. He enjoyed his John Deere, hunting, and running backhoes. Roy is survived by his wife, Dolly; son, Roy Cross, Jr. of Canton, PA; daughter, Terrie (Jonathan Hamm) Powell of Blossburg, PA; siblings, Donna Mae (Art) Kline of Mainesburg, PA, Ruth (Art) Cordova of Colorado Springs, CO, Cliff Cross of Covington, PA, Rosemary (Raymond) Barnes of Mansfield, PA and Jeffery Cross of Wellsboro, PA; stepbrother, Dennis (Verna) Correll of Williamsport, PA; stepsister, Donna (Larry) Rice of Mainesburg, PA; grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Emilly Anderson, Ashelly Powell and Ryan Baughn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Sarah, along with his brother, Clayton Cross and stepbrother David Correll. Friends and family are invited to call from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 P.M. with Bill Baker officiating.
