Though my father and I haven’t spoken in years, I have many fond memories of our time together. From fishing to hunting and spending time at the shooting range, my father taught me a lot. One of my fondest memories was when he raised wolves (no joke). He had approx. 12 to 15 wolves, and at one point a Dingo too. He loved animals and always had some sort of pet to keep him company. He also gave them the strangest nicknames (said with a smile). Whenever I had a question about carpentry or how to build something, I’d always ask my father. He was highly skilled in the carpentry trade and there was no one better in my opinion. He even built his dream house, a log cabin, on “Serenity Hill” as he called his place on Barber Rd. I’ll always have these and many other memories to keep him close to heart.
Through the years we’ve had our ups and downs and it heartens me to know that toward the end he had people who cared and looked after him. Thank you Doug, Denny and anyone else I may be missing. You are truly a blessing, and I thank you.
I’ll miss you, and I love you Pop.
