Obituary of Charles F. Harley
Charles F. Harley, age 82, of Austinville, PA, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Charles was born July 10, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of John J. and Rose (Royle) Harley. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran; a member of the Knights of Columbus in NJ, served on the board of the Northern Tier Cultural Alliance; was a member of the Diahoga Path Community of Native Americans and Friends; and was an avid reader. He was employed for many years as a welder. Charles was a storyteller and a practical joker.
Charles is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rose (Green) Harley; children and their spouses, Ruth Ann King of Philadelphia, PA, Charles Harley of New Jersey, Steven (Donna) Harley of West Grove, PA, Deborah (David) Fogleman of Wetumpka, AL, Sandra (Richard) Pilling of Rio Grande, NJ, Kenneth (Tracy) Haungs of Del Haven, NJ, Robert (Nicole) Harley of Jersey Shore, PA; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Moylan of Drexel Hill, PA, and Catherine McIvor of Booth Wyne, PA; several nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by brothers, Daniel, John, Thomas and James; and sisters, Elizabeth, Rose, Agnus, Cecelia, and Anna.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Austinville Union Church with Rev. Kenneth Marple officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles memory to the charity of ones choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jacquelyn A.
