Obituary of Kenneth Pilkinton

Kenneth H. Pilkinton, age 86, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA. He was born on October 8, 1934 in Parsonsburg, MD, a son of Homer and Tressia (O'Grady) Pilkinton. Kenneth and his wife, Nancy (McCulloh) Pilkinton, celebrated 59 years of marriage on March 24, 2021. He was a minister for 50 years and worked for Salem Co Welfare Board. Kenneth was also a life member of New Jersey Congress of Parents and Teachers and a member of Crosspoint Wesleyan Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 20 years. Kenneth was a foster parent for 16 years. Kenneth is survived by his wife; two sons, Elden (Wendy) Pilkinton of DE, and Shaun Pilkinton of Mansfield, PA; a daughter, Janice Shimp of DE; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Rodger Pilkinton; and a sister, Naomi Krause of OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dollie Appel; and a granddaughter, Megan Reichwein. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
