Obituary of Lila M. Patterson

Lila M. Midget (Shelman) Patterson, age 69, of Tioga, PA died Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Lila was the wife of Edward C. Ed Patterson for 51 years; together they celebrated their anniversary on July 10th. Lila was born on August 9, 1939 in Blossburg, PA a daughter of Manley and Gladys (Kennedy) Shelman. She had been employed by Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. Lila is survived by her husband, Ed, two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Lori Patterson of McGraw, NY, Randy and Sue Patterson of Jackson MS; two wonderful grandchildren, Garrett and Morgan Patterson; 5 step-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Ann Shelman of Covington, PA, Max and Marie Shelman of Washington, Carl and Norman Shelman of Blossburg, PA; two sisters, Grace Carl of Corning, NY, Geraldine Johnson of Mansfield, PA; three brothers-in-law, Leonard Patterson and his friend, Fern Helberling of Tioga, PA, Richard and Sally Patterson, of Tioga, PA, Donald and Louise Patterson of Nelson, PA; three sisters-in-law, Arlene and Judd Price of Knoxville, PA, Geraldine Lehman of Tioga, PA, and Sharon Loucks of Knoxville, PA. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Dolley and Hazel Paulo, two brothers, Alec and Merle Shelman, and a sister-in-law, Peggy Hankla. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, December 29, 2008 from 1 to 2 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory and Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. G. Victor Perry officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
