Obituary of Hugh Wesley Heck
Hugh Wesley Heck, age 82, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Thursday, December 18, 2008 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born on February 21, 1926 in Tioga, PA, he was the son of the late Albert Lee and Genevieve L. (Gaylord) Heck. He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Barbara J. (Slocum) Heck who died in July of 2003.
Prior to his retirement in 1991, Hugh was employed with Deitricks. He was a US Army veteran having served in WW II and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Wesley is survived by his children: Hugh W. and Julie Heck, II of Mainesburg, PA; Sandra Kay Vargeson of Camarillo, CA; Gary and Linda Cummings of Middlebury, PA, Timothy and Rose Cummings of Knoxville, PA; Karen and Randy Casey of Durango, CO; Nancy and Bill Zimar of Avon, NY; Linda Irwin of Melbourne, FL; Myraetta and Gerald Austin of Wellsboro, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Paul Butler of Tioga, PA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Pat Heck of Middlebury, PA, Gordon and Charlotte Heck of Liberty, PA; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Wesley was predeceased by two sons, Larry Davis and Roger Cummings; one sister, Florence and two brothers, LaVerne and Gerald.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday immediately following calling hours at 8:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Berg officiating.
