Obituary of Jonathan Dillon
Jonathan Frederick Dillon, age 37, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Friday, March 12, 2021, after bravely battling glioblastoma brain cancer.
He was born November 9, 1983, in Philadelphia, PA, son of Carl "Chuck" and Susan Dillon. Jon grew up in the PA Grand Canyon, working for his family's business Pine Creek Outfitters, Inc., which he took ownership of after graduating from Susquehanna University with a degree in history. He fell in love and married his wife Amanda (Tuttle) and had two daughters, Eliana, age 9, and Lylah, age 7. An avid outdoorsman, Jon spent much of his time exploring – hiking, boating, mountain biking, and teaching his daughters to appreciate the outdoors. Jon loved reading and was a gifted musician, mastering the guitar, mandolin, banjo, kick drum, harmonica, and the digeridoo. Often you could find him playing several instruments at the same time. Jon was known for his warm smile, funny shenanigans, big hugs, and deep conversations. His kind spirit will forever bless the waters and trails of Pine Creek.
He will be missed every day by his loved ones: his beloved wife, Amanda of Wellsboro, PA; their two precious daughters, Eliana and Lylah; his father and mother, Chuck and Susan (Garland) Dillon of Wellsboro, PA; a sister, Alison (Dillon) Diehl, and her husband Noah of Jersey Shore, PA; grandmother and grandfather, Verle and Shirley Garland of Johnstown, PA; grandmother, Arlene Dillon of Lowell, MA; his loving in-laws, nephews, niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, and long-time friends; and his faithful dog, Bella.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 19th, 5pm, at the Ansonia Valley C&MA Church (4864 Rt 6, Wellsboro, PA 16901). A private burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to his daughters' 529 education accounts (c/o Amanda, 5142 Rt. 6, Wellsboro, PA 16901) or memorial donations to the Tiadaghton Chapter of Trout Unlimited (https://www.tu.org/chapter/688-tiadaghton/). Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
