I was a student of Mrs. Kalins at WMCTC from 2011-2014. I just heard about her passing and I was shattered. She was an amazing teacher, person and was there when I needed her in high school. She will truly be missed by everyone.

Dear Deanne, Thank you so much for working so tirelessly with Joshua and Abigail. Each moment was not wasted as you poured your life and energy into helping them develop skills for life. As teenagers they may not have always appreciated the value behind these life lessons but as their Mother I know how practical they were. You were gone so unexpectedly that we did not get to say goodbye. May your family feel our love and gratitude for all you did. It has been such a crazy year with schedules, remote learning and all the nuances of learning the computer programs. Thank you for all you did to make the adjustment easier and for helping Joshua with his math in the morning and coaxing him m with pictures of riding lawnmowers. You will be missed and carried in our hearts. We love you. The Janca Family

Deanne was such a great teacher whose students absolutely adored her! I met with Deanne each week. I had many opportunities to watch Deanne interact with her students. You could definitely tell her students knew she believed in them, wanted the best for them and always had their back! I am going to miss working with Deanne more than words can say! Deanne shared many loving stories about her family, especially her grandchildren, who you could tell she loved more than anything! Sending healing prayers to her family through this sad time!

Mrs Kalin was one of the best teachers, mentor and shining lights that a lot of us had in cosmetology. She was kind, patient and kept us al smiling. She pushed us to be better, not only in our career but as a human being. My heart goes out to all that had the privilege to know her. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and Mrs R. She will continue to shine through all of us.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Kalin was an amazing teacher. She helped and inspired so many of her students. She was the kind of person who knew all the right things to say even when you didn’t want to hear it she gave you the best tough love. She was the kind of teacher who gave it her all; you would walk into her class and no matter what mood you were in she would have you smiling by the time you left. She was funny, kind smart, bold, sassy, loving, caring, patient, real, and such a boss babe. She will forever be remembered as one of the most important people in my life. I hope we can honor her by having patience and spreading love, positivity, and knowledge. May she RIP. ❤️

Walking in the classroom every day and seeing you is what I am missing right now. I thought I would always have you there. In the last 5 years, I have seen our students grow so much because of you. You were a fanatic teacher, you fought so hard for them they are much better students because of knowing you and everything you thought them. They will forever remember you.
I will never forget you you were not just my co-worker you are and will forever be one of my very best friends. I love you Deanne and every time I hear Elton John I will remember you and our time at the concert like your favorite song "Someone saved my life today" you saved my life and made me so much better just from knowing you. I miss your smile your wit your humor your passion. I am sorry I was not there for you more. when I saw you on Friday at the end of the day and we were talking I felt like I needed to hug you I wish I would have hugged you! I just want to wake up from this nightmare and hug you so tight. I miss you so much, my friend. I love you you will be in my heart forever. Till I see you again my friend. nothing but love!

Mrs. Kalin was the best! I’m so grateful I got the chance to build a bond with her while I was in school. Not only was she an amazing instructor but sometimes a motherly figure and confidante. I would not be who I am today without her tough love and words of encouragement. I’m so sad I never got the chance to tell her how she has helped mold me into the woman, mother, and stylist I am today. She has impacted SO many other students life in the same positive way she did mine. I am devastated by this tragic loss and my condolences, strength and love go to her family and friends. Thank you Mrs. Kalin for always believing in us! You will never be forgotten.

We took the farm truck across the field to water the wild flowers. When we finished we discovered a very very flat tire. Notice our smiles. Despite the dilemma we were having fun. I don't think the men thought it was very funny though.
I just can't wrap my brain around not having such experiences again with this beautiful lady and wonderful friend.
To Mike, Angela and Derik...knowing how deep my sorrow is I can't even imagine the extent of yours. Know that she was loved by all of us just as you are. Please know we are here for you. The Snyder's - Tammy, Scott, Ty and Dana

You may wonder about these cards. Deanne and I bought each other the same card that year, without knowing it of course. We were connected, one in the same, soul sisters. I can only extend my love and prayers to you all. It goes without saying that Deanne will be truly missed as much as she was truly loved. I love you my dearest friend.
