Obituary of Nila Ross
Nila (Campbell) Ross, age 82, of Trout Run, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was born on August 2, 1938 in Morris, PA, a daughter of Verne and Adelaide "Addie" (Teed) Campbell. Nila was married to the late Richard "Leon" Ross who passed away on August 14, 2007. She worked as a clerk for Cohick Trading Post in Salladasburg, PA and was a member of White Pine United Methodist Church. Nila loved country music, writing poems, cats, and dogs. She was a seamstress and quilter. Nila and her sons ran a local butcher shop.
Nila is survived by her sons, Richard (Kelli Houseknecht) Ross, Jr. of Trout Run, PA, and Calvin Ross of Linden, PA; two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Greenway of Williamsport, PA, and Sue Ross of Trout Run, PA; five grandchildren, Scott (Jamie) Livermore, Staci (Jacob) Speary, Brion (Rachel) Livermore, Tashina Ross, and Nakoma Ross; six great grandchildren, Mea Livermore, Bailey Livermore, Louis Mercantino, Auden Livermore, Quinten Livermore, and Leon Chase Kinley; three sisters, Irene (Joe) Bohnert of Morris, PA, Louise (Dick) Cohick of Morris, PA, and Margie Shabloski of Wellsboro, PA; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Roberta Wilcox; and an infant daughter, Brenda Lee Ross.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date when the weather is warmer. Memorial contributions can be made to White Pine United Methodist Church or Beckoning Cats 320 E. 3rd St. Williamsport, PA 17701. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
