Obituary of Carol Benson
Carol (Kendrick) Benson, age 75, of Mansfield, PA died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Carol was the wife of Donald Benson for 56 years. She was born on July 30, 1933 in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ora (Harvey) Kendrick. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School in 1950. She worked at the Fabricana in Mansfield and was co-owner of Benson Trucking. Carol was a member of the Canoe Camp Church of Christ and was an active member of the Mansfield Womens Club, formerly BPW. She was honored by the Mansfield BPW as Woman of the Year in November, 1999. Carol enjoyed traveling, sewing and flower gardening.
Carol is survived by her husband, Donald; a daughter and son in-law, Lucia and James Hall of Mansfield, PA; a son, Lance Benson of Key West, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Loren and Patti Kendrick of Mansfield, PA; a sister and brother- in-law, Shirley and Dr. John Bennett of Bethesda, MD; several nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister and brother-in-law, Janice M. and William Smith.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately after the viewing on Saturday at Noon with the Rev. Ira Hindman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Carols memory to the Arthritis Research Institute of America, 300 S.
