Obituary of Robert James Heichel

Robert James Heichel, age 87, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at The Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. He was born on March 16, 1933 in Pontiac, MI, a son of Ralph and Luvah (Whitney) Heichel. Robert was married to Joan (Sargent) Heichel. He owned gas stations and worked at Walmart after he retired. Robert was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Mansfield VFW. Robert is survived by his wife; two daughters, Lois (Buzz) McMullen of Mansfield, PA, and Susan (Chris) Bixby of Loganville, PA; four grandchildren, Jason (Judy) McMullen, Brandon (Katie) McMullen, Britton Bixby, and Colin Bixby; three great grandchildren, Jenna, Jaydon, and Maeve McMullen; a brother, Dale (Betty) Heichel of Montour Falls, NY; and a sister, Bonalyn Dickinson of Big Flats, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bud Heichel, Tink Heichel, and David Heichel; two sisters, Doris Smithgall, and Marion Godwin; a daughter, Debbie Heichel; and a great grandson, Garret McMullen. A private funeral service will take place at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
