Obituary of Edna V. Uyematsu
Edna V. (Kerver) Schaffer Uyematsu, age 88, of Mansfield, PA, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at her daughters residence. Born on October 3, 1920 in Trumbarsville, PA, she was the daughter of William and Florence (Bergey) Kerver. Edna was the wife of the late Noah Linford Schaffer who died in 1969, and the late Itsuo Uyematsu, who died in 1987.
Prior to her retirement, Edna was employed as a waitress with Shelleys Restaurant. One of her pleasures was driving.
Edna is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Daniel and Lillian Schaffer of Sassmansville, PA, Durrell and Eva Schaffer of Onoadago, MI, Ray and Beverly Schaffer of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Louise Kling of Mansfield, PA, 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by a son, Gerald Schaffer on July 16, 2006; a grandson, Durrell R. Schaffer, Jr. in 1989; three brothers, Earl, Henry, Edward and a sister, Ada.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tom Leidy Cemetery, 276 W. Cherry Lane, Souderton, PA under the direction of the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
