Obituary of Martha Jane Butler
Martha Jane Butler, age 75, of Tioga, PA passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. She was born on March 10, 1945, a daughter of Charlie and Lena (Kelsey) Short. Martha was the wife of Ernest "Mike" Butler. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and enjoyed walks, the great outdoors, reading, boating, and loved children and professional wrestling.
Martha is survived by her husband Mike; sons Danny (Heidi) Butler of Tioga, PA and Ernest Leon Butler, Jr. of Williamsport, PA; daughter Carol Wilcox of Lawrenceville, PA; brothers Charlie (Kathy) Short of Horseheads, NY, Philip Short, Daniel (Lollie) Short of Covington, PA, Brian Short of New Albany, PA, and Albert Short of Ogdensburg, PA; sisters Katie Smith of Antrim, PA, Lula Ball of Muncy, PA and Ruth Johns of Canton, PA; grandchildren Nicole Butler and Rachel (Jeff) Savino; great grandchildren Aubrianna Miller and Jordan Miller. She was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Earl, Sam, Sam, David, and Charlie Short; sisters Geraldine Stuckey, Emmogene Short, and Basil Short; and an infant sibling.
Friends and family are invited to call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Tioga, PA with the Reverend Steven Neff officiating.
