Obituary of Harry Theodore Hanes

Harry Theodore Hanes, age 88, of Lawrenceville, PA, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Corning Hospital. He was born on February 26, 1932 in West Pike, PA, a son of Leon and Vera Viola (Morgan) Hanes. Harry was married to Miriam (Clark) Hanes for 66 years. He worked as a machinist for Chowning Regulator in Corning, NY and served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne. Harry had the privilege to serve the West Mansfield Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses as an elder. Harry also loved fishing with his kids, gardening and sharing what he had with his friends and family. Harry is survived by his wife; three sons, Lynn (Cathy) Hanes of Ashboro, NC, Thomas (Lori) Hanes of Sadsburyville, PA, and Nathan (Priscilla) Hanes of Belmont, NY; a daughter, Katrina Hanes of Lawrenceville, PA; a daughter-in-law, Betty (Donald) Hanes of Gillette, PA; four grandchildren, Matthew Hanes of Greensboro, NC, Heather Hoos of Waverly, NY, Donald Hanes, Jr. of Elmira, NY and Alyssa Hanes of Sadsburyville, PA; two great-grandsons, Gavin and Ander Hoos; two brothers, Robert Hanes of FL, and Joseph Hanes of Mills, PA; and a sister, Harriet (Frank) Arreola of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Hanes; and two brothers, William Hanes, and Herbert Hanes. In honoring the family's wishes, there will be no services at this time. A memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
