Lee Dale Makley, age 70, of Covington, PA, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 in Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Lee was born November 15, 1937 in Covington Twp., a son of Frank and Ina (Harvey) Makley. He was the husband of Ute Judy (Roeding) Makley. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 22, 2009 . Lee was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War retiring after 22 years of service. Following his retirement from the Army, he was a self-employed logger and a real estate agent for Endless Mountain Real Estate. He was a member of the Blossburg V.F.W., the Blossburg Rod and Gun Club, was a past president of the Bowling Assoc. Lees favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Lee is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Eric Makley of Covington, PA, Anthony (Karen) Makley of Florida, Christopher (Jessica) Makley of Elmira, NY; a daughter, Jennifer Poirer of Covington, PA; grandchildren, Derrick, Shawn, Kendall and Forest Makley, Kayla, Salem and Collin Poirer, four step-grandchildren, Tara, Tori, Jamie and Andrea; a brother, Olin Makley of Pittsburgh, PA. Lee was predeceased by two brothers, Elwin and Grant Makley.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
