Our deepest sympathy to the family of a lovely lady and a great preserver of local history.
We use to live in the former Sarah (Sally) Cardman home on Tuscarora Street in Osceola. Jean and Leslie's home was across the "short" road in the late 1980's.
Jean and I often talked about the Orphange and the school house along with many of her memories of that part of Osceola.
I remember the night the house caught fire, our family prayed and prayed the home of historical and family memories would survive. However, to our sadness it was not to be spared. The fire was sad for us but devastating to Jean and the family. I spoke with her weeks later, she told me she was able to salvage some wooded trim that was moved to their house on Holden. Whenever, our family passes that trim, we smile for the times gone by and now for Jean. Pray for us now Jean, to keep the history of this beautiful Valley alive!
Love and prayers to all as comfort in your tremendous loss.

To Jean’s family. My deepest sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Jean was one special lady. A friend I made while I was working at bank in Lawrenceville. Also many wonderful chats when she came to my garage sales. May God give you comfort and peace in the days ahead. Keep your wonderful memories close to your heart.
