Obituary of Leo A. Packard
Leo A. Packard, age 85, of Mainesburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at his home. He was born on March 17, 1934, a son of Willard and Ella (Beals) Packard. Leo was the husband of Lucile (Tice) Packard. He was a member of the Mainesburg United Methodist Church. Before Leo retired, he worked as a Mechanic for the same local Chevrolet dealership that had been owned by Rose, Dahlgren and Cole & Burd. He also inspected buses for Benedicts. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and family camping vacations including some in their homemade camper. Leo is survived by his wife, Lucile; four sons, Earl (Beverly) Packard of Hornell, NY, David (Debra) Packard of East Berlin, PA, Kevan (Jane) Packard, and Douglas (Jill) Packard of Lock Haven, PA; a daughter, Marsha (Douglas) Ripkey of Stoughton, WI; a sister, Wilda June (Byron) Stickler of NC; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Willard "Billy" Packard, Jr. Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 6-8pm at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory Inc., 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA 16933 and on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 10-11am at the Mainesburg United Methodist Church, 100 Smith Park Rd., Mainesburg, PA 16932. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Reverend Sean Smith officiating.
