Obituary of Betty Correll Cross
Betty J. (Kleinsmith) Correll Cross, age 87, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on December 30, 2018 at the Green Home. She was born on May 18, 1931 in Hamburg, PA, a daughter of Jacob and Anna (Wentzel) Kleinsmith. Betty worked for the Cozy Corner Diner, Elmira School District as a Crossing Guard, Elmira City as a jail matron and Dunkin (Mister) Donut both in Mansfield and Wellsboro prior to her retirement. She was an active member of the Mansfield VFW Post and various other social organizations.
She is survived by a special friend, Glen Campbell; her children, Dennis (Verna) Correll of Montoursville, PA, Donna (Larry) Rice, Jeff (Robin) Cross, Cliff Cross, Roy (Dolly) Cross, Donna Mae (Art) Kline, Rosemary (Raymond) Barnes all of Mainesburg, PA; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Correll and Clifford Cross, Sr.; sons, David Correll and Clayton Cross; brothers, Merryl and Vernon Kleinsmith; and a granddaughter, Patsy Kline.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Correll/Cross Family Scholarship, Penn College, 1 College Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
