Obituary of Keith "Blackie" Day
Keith "Blackie" Day, age 85 of Middlebury Center, PA, passed away at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA on December 19, 2018. He was born April 7, 1933 in Keeneyville, PA, a son of Ralph and Laura (Chase) Day. Keith worked as an insurance agent for Banker's Life and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro. He was a former member of Rotary for many years. Keith raised Brittany dogs and worked with 4H members on shooting. He sang with the Wellsboro Men's Chorus and the Festival Chorus of Mansfield. Keith served in the Army during the Korean War.
Keith is survived by his wife Ethel (Howard) Day; son Brian (Joell) Day of Dayton, WY; daughters Dawn Day-Henson of Keeneyville, PA, Katherine (Richard) Mallon-Day of Paoli, PA, and Erin Cole of Lexington Park, MD; grandchildren Zack Henson, Liam Cole, and Jaxson Cole; sister Joan (Paul) Raymont of California; a special niece Linda-Lu Misa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jeanette Harmon.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro, 130 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 637 S.
