Thank you to everyone who has posted condolences or has reached out to our family over the last week. I’ve enjoyed hearing stories about Matt from family & friends. There were periods of time that Matt & I would not see each other or hear from each other for awhile, but it was understood that there was unconditional love & acceptance all the time. I have so many memories of our childhood antics on Church Street (where we lived) and on Broad Street (where my aunt’s family lived) in Tioga, Pa. I’ve been reminded of many of life’s lessons from my brother’s life & from his death. He was so proud of his daughter & granddaughter, and my hope is that they will feel his love through all of us now.

I have fond memories of Matt growing up as a kid. He and his sisters spent a lot of time at our house so we were all more like siblings than cousins. The Tioga Pool had a rule in the summer you that had to have 10 kids to open the pool. Let's just say the pool was open a lot during our era since between our two families there were 7 of us. Matt always had a kind heart and a great big smile to go with that. The last time I saw and visited with Matt was when he stopped by to see my dad on Broad Street in Tioga. His uncle Jack, my dad was sick and Matt stopped by to visit and cheer him up. He was talking about how he was in school and was the top student in his class. Matt also spoke about how proud he was of his daughter, Ashley. I was blessed to have known Matt - such a kind and caring guy. We'll Miss you Matt. Say hello to my dad.

You will always be the best Christmas present I ever received. If we could re-live your childhood, I would not change any of the wonderful memories we made.

Matt and I shared our greatest gift in the world in our Grand Daughter Zoey! You will be missed greatly by her and Ashley. Thank you for giving us an awesome girl in Ashley as she is a wonderful mom and she will always be part of our family forever. RIP....
