Obituary of George Brodbeck
George "Bill" W. Brodbeck, age 81, of Wellsboro, previously of York, PA, passed away on July 24, 2018 at his home. He was born on December 4, 1936 in Hellam, PA, a son of George W. and Velma (Werner). Prior to George's retirement he worked for Cement Express and Laurel Lanes Bowling. He was a US veteran having served in the Air Force. George was an avid hunter, bowler and NASCAR enthusiast. He was a big Eagles and Phillies fan. George was a lifetime member of the NRA, VFW, 9TH Ward, American Legion, and Moose Club.
He is survived by a son, George W. Brodbeck, Jr. ; five daughters, Katherine L. (Daniel) Rush, Patricia J. (Ricky) Stanford, Georjean W. Brodbeck, Mary E. (Kenneth) Keenan, Christine (Dennis) Michael; a sister, Jane (Vermont) Minnick; a sister-in-law, Juanita Brodbeck; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a caregiver and companion, Linda Brodbeck; a step-daughter, Karen E. Starkweather; a step- son, Timothy R. Rodgers; 5 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; a canine companion, Pepsi. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Brodbeck; a sister, Kathryn Ehrhart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1PM at Kreutz Creek Church, 82 Old Church Lane, York, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
