Obituary of Dean L. Ward
Dean L. Ward, age 71, of Mansfield, PA, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Dean was born on July 8, 1936 in Cammal, PA, the son of Ann (Campbell) Ward.
Prior to his retirement in 1998, Dean was employed for 42 years for Tri-County Electric as a journeyman lineman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1955-1956. Dean enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, shooting, traveling, home improvements and spending time with his family.
Dean is survived by four sons and daughter-in-laws; Randall Ward of Barberton, OH, Daniel and Jill Ward of Montgomery, PA, Dale and Lisa Ward of Denver, CO, Michael and Kathy Ward of Dover, PA; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Carol Ward of Palm Bay, FL; one sister, Mary Lou Lesher of Ashland, PA; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and the following extended family: James Bailey of Sayre, PA; Jackie and Steve Antes of Wellsville, NY and Tara Jo and Jerry Copas of Sayre, PA. Dean was predeceased by his life partner, Sharon Ward, on July 20, 2007.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for their efforts and concern during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory and Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
