Obituary of Roger N. Benson
Roger Neil Benson passed away on September 18, 2007. He was born January 21, 1930 in Corning, N.Y. He attended Lincoln Middle and Kearny High School in Kearny, N.J. and graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. He obtained his Masters Degree at Columbia University. His career as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer included posts in Toronto Canada, Tokyo and Nagoya Japan, Colombo Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) and Seoul Korea. He retired from the Foreign Service in 1981 and continued to work for the State Department until 1999. Favorite pastimes included researching family genealogy and caring for his bonsai tree collection. He is survived by his loving widow, Mary Cable Benson, daughter Katherine Campbell, son David Benson and two grandsons, Neil and Ian Campbell. A private memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Tioga, PA. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
