Obituary of Sheila Crittenden
Sheila Jean Brown Crittenden, North Fort Myers, FL, age 82, went to be with her beloved Savior Jesus Christ, on April 30, 2018, who she accepted at age six. Born May 26, 1935, in the new Blossburg Hospital, Tioga County, PA, the only daughter of Hamilton W. Brown and Josephine Nash Brown. Resided in Mansfield, PA, until moving to Florida in 2004. Survived by childhood sweetheart, Richard "Dick" David Crittenden, married 64 years on March 27th. Four daughters and spouses: Joy and Gary Christian (Northumberland, PA), Drs. Elizabeth "Betsy" and Mircea Grigoriu (Ithaca, NY), Marianne and Muray Kent (Dunnellon, FL), Lois and Charles "Chuck" Rupar (Cape Coral, FL). Also, grandchildren: Trapper (Viky) Wyman; Levi, Marcus, Nicholas (Jackie) Kent; Jenny (Kevin) Shroyer, Emily (Shadoe) Daniels; Chad, Blake, Abby Rupar. Great grandchildren Octavian and Victoriana Wyman; Teagan Shroyer. Predeceased by parents and only brother, Rev. Badon Brown. Sheila graduated from Mansfield High School, Class of 1953. She was crowned Miss Mansfield that year to represent the town at the Pennsylvania Laurel Festival. She was a freelance decorator, dedicated homemaker, taught many enrichment classes for adults and was an elementary school volunteer. She founded the Green Thumb Garden Club in Mansfield. Sheila enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, painting, sewing and writing. Bible study and prayer groups were an important part of her life. Sheila's faith sustained her through several bouts with breast cancer. Her husband and family were her delight always. Member of First Assembly of God, Fort Myers, FL. Reception following at Lambs Creek Food & Spirits at Noon. In lieu of flowers, Sheila has requested donations be given to One Way Out Ministries (onewayout.org), a non-profit dear to her heart.
