Obituary of Duane E. Goodwin
Duane E. Goodwin, age 91, of Wellsboro, died at his home on Friday, May 4, 2018. He was born March 8, 1927 in Holiday, PA, the son of Willard and Lillian (Mosher) Goodwin. Duane was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War. His favorite baseball team was the Pittsburg Pirates. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family.
Duane is survived by his children; Cindy Pellette of Auburn, NY, Katy Starkweather of Wellsboro, Diane (Sonny) Nichols of Waterloo, NY, Willard Goodwin of Wellsboro, Duane "Bud" Goodwin of TN, Christopher (Penni) Goodwin of Union Springs, NY; a special nephew, Dale A. (Tammy) Short Jr. of Wellsboro; a sister Lucille Neal of Westfield; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Wanda Bell; his wife, Genevieve "Jean" Goodwin; two children, Charolette L. Goodwin and Richard Goodwin; a grandson, Corey A. Starkweather, and a great-grandson, Peter Pitcher.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel And Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Darwin "Tink" Cranmer officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Holiday, PA.
