Obituary of Callie Anne Cavanaugh
Callie Anne Cavanaugh, age 9, formerly of Wellsboro, PA, passed away at her home in Williamsport, PA surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was born on December 1, 2008, the daughter of Kevin and Michelle (Kreger) Cavanaugh. Callie was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She attended Schick Elementary School and loved her school, teachers, and friends. Callie had two loyal miniature golden doodles, Sadie and Lola who remained at her side. She was Williamsport Sun Gazette Person of the Year for 2017 for acts of kindness and for her bravery. A yearly memorial award will be established by the family for a student exhibiting these same qualities. Callie was a spokes child for Children's Cancer Research Fund and helped to raise millions of dollars by sharing her story and had thousands of followers and supporters in The Great Cycle Challenge through this organization. She provided gift cards and toys to other families with a child with cancer at Geisinger Pediatric Oncology. A memorial healing garden is being established through generous support of friends of Callie's Crew and will be available for years to come for the community to enjoy.
Callie is survived by her parents; 3 brothers, Cole, Chase and Cy Cavanaugh all of Williamsport; paternal grandparents, Grant and Carol Cavanaugh of Wellsboro, maternal grandparents, Stephen and Catherine Kreger of Morris, grandmother, Jacqueline Forer of Williamsport; great grandmother, Dorothy Kreger of Wellsboro, great grandmother, Ruth Forer of Muncy; Uncle Keith Cavanaugh of Wellsboro; Uncle Robert and Aunt Kate Kreger of Morris; cousins, Taylor, Abbye, and Brenna Cavanaugh, Emily, Gage, Luke, Shelli Kreger; numerous Great Aunts and Uncles and extended cousins.
Services will be private at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1220 North Way Rd., Williamsport, PA with Rev. John Victoria as celebrant.
