Obituary of John A. Robertson

John A. "Jack" Robertson, age 70, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 30, 1947 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Arthur and Helen (McDermott) Robertson. He was the husband of the late Ellen (Brill) Robertson who died in 2004. Jack was employed with GTE for 25 years, a lifelong farmer, and as the Charleston Township Supervisor. He was a US Veteran having served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Jack was a member of the Arnot Sportsman's Club and Wellsboro VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joel and Jessica Robertson of Wellsboro, PA, Bill Robertson of Wellsboro, PA; three grandchildren, Riyanne Hutcheson, Devin Robertson, Mackenzie Wheatley; a great-granddaughter, Forrest Wheatley; a brother and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Marilyn Robertson of Erie, PA; a brother-in-law, Ted Clark of Erie, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters, Michelle and Melissa; a sister, Nancy Clark; his best friend, Gordy Whitney. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Wellsboro Firemen's Annex on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East 3rd St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Burial will be in Shumway Hill Cemetery.
