Obituary of Theodore L. Tilly
Mr. Theodore L. Tilly, 81 of Arnot,PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 with his loving family around him. He was born on July 10, 1936 in Wauwatosa, Wis., a son of the late Rose (Maass) Tilly and E. Treffert Jr., stepfather Edward F. Tilly. Theodore was the husband to his late and loving wife of 35 years, Ann K. Cook Tilly, who passed away on February 26, 2011. He grew up in Wisconsin and member of the Lutheran church. Theodore loved to hunt, go ice fishing, stock car racing, painting, anything that didn't move, tinkering on mowers or anything that needed fixing.
After working the mill jobs, he started his career in the Corp. of Engineers. He did core drilling in 10 states; including the Damn area of Tioga and Lawrenceville, PA, the Great Lakes area and Canada. Theodore then transferred to Lockport, Ill., to work on the "Locks" for transportation of ships and boats, etc. He retired after 31 years, and he and his wife moved to her home state, Arnot, PA. Theodore served his country in the Army during the Korean War (1955-1957). He always enjoyed visiting with family and his many friends.
Ted and his family wish a BIG "Thank You" to the cancer center in Williamsport and Wellsboro their doctors, nurses and helpers were all very kind to him and to his neighbors who helped him in so many ways. A special "thanks" goes to his caregiver/ helper, Cathy Slusser who was there him for everything.
Surviving is one brother, David Tilly (Jackie) of Kimberly, WI; one sister, Pat Steffen (Howard) of Townsend, WI; two half-brothers, Daniel Treffert of OK, James Treffert of WI; four stepchildren, John Cook (Connie) of Tacoma,WA, Robert(Bob)Cook(Nancy)of Lawrenceville, PA., Cathy Slusser (David) of Tioga, PA., Margaret Biblehimer of Montoursville, PA; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 1PM to 2PM at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2PM with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
