Obituary of John Owlett
John B. Owlett, age 86, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 30, 1931 in Blossburg, PA, a son of John and Eva (Matteson) Owlett. John married Coralee (Justin) Owlett; they shared 62 years of marriage.John was a veteran of the U.S. Air force,serving in the Korean War.After his military service, he was commissioned as a National Bank Examiner for the US Treasury Department. John, a member of the Canoe Camp Church of Christ Disciples, served as a deacon,elder, and treasurer. John belonged to the Mansfield Masonic lodge and later the Blossburg Masonic Lodge for over 60 years. He received his initial license as an amateur radio operator over 67 years ago. Later his license became upgraded to W3VEG. He served on the planning commission for Richmond Township. John is survived by his wife, Coralee; a daughter, Kristi Owlett; a son, J. Brent Owlett and was preceded in death by a daughter Amy Fuller. John had four grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin Erdner) Coley, Carrie (Jonathan) Williams, Amber Fuller, Jessica (Jesse) Zirkle; five great grandchildren, Natalie Pointer, Aidan Petta, Jesse Zirkle, Jamie Zirkle, Liam Rachel.
