Obituary of Marilyn K. Day
Marilyn K. Day, age 81, of Lawrenceville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Carleton Care Home. She was born on April 21, 1936 in Cripple Creek, CO, a daughter of John and Audrey (Parsons) Torpy. She was the wife of the late Durward Day. Marilyn was a life-time member of the Lawrenceville Fire Dept., Ambulance Assoc. and Auxiliary; her dedication never wavered from leading the Auxiliary and weekly dedication to running bingo. Her favorite hobby was crocheting.
Marilyn is survived by four sons, William "Bill" (Renee) Knorr of Spring, TX, Stephen Knorr of Tulsa, OK, Bruce Knorr of Philadelphia, PA, Francis "Sam" (Sybrina) Knorr of Collegeville, PA; a daughter, Kim (Bryan) Dupras of Tioga, PA; two step-sons, Richard "Dick" (Ruth) Day of Tioga, PA, Bruce (Angela) Day of Aurora, CO; two step-daughters, Winneta (Ted) Seaman of Nauvoo, PA, Christy (Kevin) Lohnes of Enola, PA; 24 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Bob) Lackey of Wellsboro, PA, Gloria Friend of PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Durward in 1991, and a son, Kenneth Knorr in 2008.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Burial will be in West Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lawrenceville Fire Department, Lawrenceville Ambulance Assoc., or the Lawrenceville Firemen's Auxiliary, 9 Mechanic St., Lawrenceville, PA 16929. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
