Obituary of James Pratt

James "Jim" A. Pratt Sr., age 81, of Mansfield, PA, passed on Thursday, June 8, 2017. He was born on January 11, 1936 in Rutland Twp., a son of Leon and Zelia (Stone) Pratt. James was the husband of Carol (Cowan) Pratt with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on July 25th. He was a Mansfield Borough Police Officer for 25 years of which 17 years he was Chief of Police. James was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Church of New Covenant. James had a green thumb when it came to flower gardening. Survived by his wife, Carol, a son, James "JP" Pratt II of Midland, TX; a daughter, Denise (Eric) Yost of Abbottstown, PA; a grandson, Cody J. Pratt who was his pride and joy; three brothers-in-law, Jerry, Bill (Sheri), Bob (Susie) Cowan all of Covington, PA. In keeping with James's wishes there will be no services.
