Ralph was my baby brother, honorable and kind. I am very blessed to have so many wonderful memories together he was the greatest. He always knew just what to say to lighten up my day...
When I was young, I remember him coming home in his navy uniform. He looked so important!
Then he became a marine corp man, and soon afterwards joined the police force... WOW! On the side he was a rock n roll agent. He promoted Frankie and the Knock outs, taking them all the way to American Band Stand. Afterwards we put this band together called the street rockers. We made so many great memories and had so much fun . I remember him passing out business cards that said "Mr Nice Guy"
Shortly after moving to TX I came across a T shirt that said "No more Mr nice guy" and I sent it to him in the mail. He sure did love it! Many years went by and we didn't see each other in person but we talked all the time over the phone... Last time we spoke as we said goodbye he said "Nance.. I love you " I told him "I love you too Ralph" My brother was a wonderful man. I am so happy to have so many good memories and times with him. Words can't express how much I miss him already...I have always been so proud of him and will always hold him in my heart...
I LOVE YOU RALPH.
Your little sister,
NANCY

My first encounter with Ralph was in August of 1943. My last conversation was in May of 2017. He was my younger brother and my memories include growing up in New Jersey separated by a couple of years and in recent decades by many miles. My recollections are of a kind-hearted kid and later as a loving father and grand-father. We would talk politics and movies over the phone a couple of times a year in long phone calls which I will miss.
My many Ralph stories would be from the 40's and 50's as I left Jersey in the late 60's. We shared a sense of humor and speaking style that struck many as very similar and I could tell many stories from our childhood trip to California too neighborhood adventures from the "Howdy Doody" era. One of our last "games" involved counting "sub-sandwich" joints on a ride back from the evidence lab in Sea Gert to Sea Bright" along the Ocean Front during a short visit to place our mother's ashes back in the 90's. Someday, I may post a "YouTube" of him giving the "evil eye" to the poor priest who went on too long at the grave site service with just the two of us present.
Well, thank you to those who have posted a thought or memorial. I know Ralph would enjoy them and be thankful. Ralph your calls will be missed. Big Brother Raymond

In 1974 I joined two other Ralphs on the Department. Jackie Ralph and Ralph Mulhern.
Not only did we share the dangers of the job but its joys as well. I would follow him anywhere without hesitation as he knew right from wrong, and good from bad. Ralph and I also shared one other special interest together, that of writing. In 1983 we spent the better part of a year writing a screenplay RED ICE. Two to three maybe even four days a week we'd join at the computer and create one thrilling movie script from nothing more than our imaginations. Working shifts and raising families made this ever more the commitment. You get to know people through various ways. Not just from their minds, from their hearts and their souls. Whether sitting beside him in the dark of night or at the brightest screen, he inspired people, even fictional ones. So long as we possess memories of Ralph he will always be with us. At Sgt. Smith's funeral on a blustery afternoon high atop a hill, he turned to me and said, "Ralph, you know why the sky is blue. It is for all the blue uniforms."

I came on the police department in 1979 and had worked with Ralph for several years. We had a lot of fun together and he always had a smile on his face. I remember meeting him at my fathers gas station when Ralph was in Traffic Safety and I was in High School. He was a great cop and will be missed by all

We talked today at police headquarters about Ralph. Some did not know him. I enlightened them on the fact that Ralph was a pioneer in the Union for police officers. He put the cops ahead of his own career. He was almost fired for supporting the rights of police. Not many can make that claim. It's all too often we forget those who sacrificed for the good of others. Thank you Ralph. Sail through the sky's.

In honor of my Father
Daddy you taught me to be strong , to be honest and fair. You were always my voice of reason and my strength through life's difficulties. You always had a story to tell , a joke you couldn't wait to tell and a charisma that drew all who met you in . I can't imagine my life without you now... All I want to do is hold you one more time and say I love you! Rest In Peace Daddy...Until we meet again
Your first born
