Obituary of Thomas J. Wetmore
Thomas J. Wetmore, age 88, of Wellsboro, PA, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. He was born April 16, 1929 in Abington, PA, a son of Albert and Agnes (Crighton) Wetmore. Thomas was married to Doris (Bean) Wetmore and worked as Sgt. in Hatfield Twp. and chief of police in New Britian Twp. in PA. Thomas owned a small engine repair business in Wellsboro for a number of years. He served in the National Guard and enjoyed hunting, reading, and genealogy.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Doris; his 4 children and their spouses, The Rev. Cheryl L. Berner of Auburndale, FL; Mark and Teresa Wetmore of Doylestown, PA; Janet and Rainer Gehres of Wallkill, NY; Joyce and James Zentmeyer of Davisburg, MI; 7 grandchildren; Michelle, Brian, Andrew, Joshua, Peter, Thomas and Grace and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Robert and Donald Wetmore,
and 2 sisters, Jean Brooks and Margaret Morrow.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow at 1PM with The Rev. Barbara Collins, Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Tioga County, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
