Obituary of Raymond W. Gleason

Raymond W. Gleason, Jr., age 84, of Troy, PA, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Towanda Memorial Hospital. He was born May 13, 1932 in Middlebury Center, PA, a son of Raymond, Sr. and Lila Leola (Southard) Gleason. Raymond was the widow of Rita J. Gleason who died January 11, 2013. He was truck driver for over 30 years employed by Paper Magic; Corning Glass, GTP Sylvania, the Daily Express, and was a caretaker for Hulton Park. Raymond was a member of the East Troy United Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Raymond is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Linda Gleason of Troy, PA; a brother, Maynard "Flip" Gleason of Wellsboro, PA; 3 sisters, Patricia Webster of Wellsboro, PA, Virginia (Floyd, Jr.) Young of Mansfield, PA; Helen J. Stoudt of Millerton, PA; 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael (Liz), and Heather Gleason; 3 great grandchildren, Zhawn, Angelina and Daniel. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita; sisters, Claudia Marble, Connie Marble; a brother, Desmond Gleason; infant brother, Howard Gleason; and infant sister, Joyce Gleason. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Chris Nauta and Rev. Garry Zuber officiating. Burial will be in Middlebury Union Cemetery, Keeneyville, PA.
