Obituary of William C. Boyden

William C. "Bill" Boyden, age 71, of Mainesburg, PA died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at his home. Bill was the husband of the late Rieta P. (Baker) Boyden who died on December 11, 2013. He was born on July 6, 1945 in Blossburg, PA, a son of Charles and Bette (Lawrence) Boyden. Bill was employed as an engineer at North Penn Telephone before he retired. He was an Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War; was a member and lifetime supporter of the N.R.A.; enjoyed hunting, firearms, marksmanship, woodworking and going to logging festivals. Bill is survived by two daughters, Robin Kent of Mainesburg, PA, Billie Sue Atkinson of Morris Run, PA, his mother-in-law, Elva "Peg" Maines of Mainesburg, PA, four grandchildren, Jessica Kent (Christopher) Moore, Michael Kent, Joseph Heater, and David Mascho; two great grandchildren, Christian and Leighton Moore; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James (Donna) Boyden of Mainesburg, PA, John Boyden of Aztec, NM; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna (John) Elsbree, Troy, PA. He was predeceased by his wife, Rieta; a son, David C. DeKay, and a brother, Flynn Boyden. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel And Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in State Road Cemetery, Mainesburg, PA.
