Obituary of Jean E. Ogden
Jean E. Ogden, age 93, of Blossburg, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Broad Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro, PA. She was born September 21, 1923 in Arkport, NY the daughter of Edward Frank Lathrop and Edith Doude Lathrop. Jean was married to LeRoy Ogden on January 1, 1943. She worked at Corning Glass Lab during the war. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Jean was a member of the Blossburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Jean is survived by her children, Douglas and Amy Ogden of Morris Run, PA, Phillip Ogden of Blossburg, PA, and Scott and Jacqueline Ogden of Covington, PA; grandchildren; Marc and Mary Hutcheson of Apache Junction, AZ, Heather and Ali Soufan of Tenafly, NJ, Heidi and Chris Fink of Coudersport, PA, Angelia Hutcheson-Landis and Adam Landis of Liberty, PA, Mathew Hutcheson of Mansfield, PA, Garrett and Haylie Ogden of Lynchburg, VA, Emily Ogden of Binghamton, NY, Beverly and Kyle Davy of Morris Run, PA, and Casey Ogden of Covington, PA; great grandchildren, Riyanne Hutcheson and Sidney Landis of Liberty, PA, Stella and Olivia Fink of Coudersport PA, Tiffany, Brooke, James, Wyatt Hutcheson of Apache Junction, AZ, Connor, Dylan and Dean Soufan of Tenafly, NJ, Mason Ogden of Lynchburg, VA. She was predeceased by her husband, LeRoy Ogden, children, Bonnie Hutcheson and Michael Ogden; grandchild, Nicholas Ogden.
Jean's life celebration will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Blossburg United Methodist Church, 108 N. Williamson Rd., with Rev. A. Michele Somerville officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blossburg United Methodist Church in Jean's memory. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
