Obituary of David Voorhees

David Voorhees, age 55, of Granville Summit, PA, died on Monday, March 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 6, 1961 in Elmira, NY a son of James W. and Maryetta (Montanye) Voorhees. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by a son, Matthew (Ashley) Voorhees of Granville Summit, PA; a daughter, Lavonna Cole of Austinville, PA; five grandchildren, Ryder, Colt, Melonie, Madelynn and Mylah; three brothers; James (Bonita) Voorhees of Lockwood, NY, Ronald (Inez) Voorhees of Springfield, PA, Paul D Voorhees of Springfield, PA; four sisters, Sandra ( Ronald) Kingsley of Springfield, PA, Darlene (Dan) Close of Troy, PA, Linda Rathrun Springfield, PA, Jeannie (Jeffrey) Estep of Ganville Summit, PA; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Paul Mark. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the North Street Community Church, Canton, PA. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:30 AM at the church with Pastor Darren Peachey officiating. Burial will be in the Harkness Cemetery at a later date.
