Obituary of Maryetta Ruth Voorhees
Maryetta Ruth Voorhees, age 85, of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home. She was born May 21, 1931 in Elmira, NY, a daughter of Philo W. and Ruth Maryetta (Johnson) Montanye. Maryetta was predeceased by her husband, James W. Voorhees on Nov. 14, 2003. She was a member of Victory Church, Troy, PA. Maryetta was a member of a bowling league, a book fanatic, enjoyed doing ceramics, crafts, shopping, playing games and cards, decorating her home, and working in her flower gardens and doing yardwork.
Maryetta is survived by 4 sons, James D. (Bonita) Voorhees of Lockwood, NY, Ronald (Inez) Voorhees of Springfield, PA, David Voorhees of Granville, PA, Paul D. Voorhees of Springfield, PA; 4 daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Kingsley of Springfield, PA, Darlene (Dan) Close of Troy, PA, Linda Rathbun of Springfield, PA, Jeannie (Jeffrey) Estep of Granville Summit, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Lester Montanye. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Paul Mark Voorhees; sisters, Gertrude Clearwater, Dorothy Conklin and Louise Heath; brothers, Philo Montanye, Jr., Lyman Montanye, Raymond Montayne, Harold Montayne.
Visitation will be held at the Victory Church, 645 E. Main St., Troy, PA on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. with Assoc. Pastor, John Wile officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018, or to a charity of one's choice.
