Obituary of Thomas Garth VanNess

Thomas Garth VanNess, age 57, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away at his home Sunday, December 18, 2016. He was born November 5, 1959 in Elmira, NY, a son of Vernon and Jessie (Sisson) VanNess. Thomas and his wife Carolyn (Boyce) VanNess would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on April 25th. He was employed at D.F.A. Thomas was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Wellsboro Social Club, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Thomas is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his father, Vernon; 4 sons, Roger and Jonah VanNess, Trystan (Margo Haddow) Wheatley, Cody and Shelly Perry of Wellsboro, PA; 4 daughters, Brooke Wheatley, Jessica and Joel Robertson, Nicole (Amanda Rice) Wheatley all of Wellsboro, PA; Carly Lawton of Wyoming; 6 grandchildren, Mackenzie Wheatley, Kiana Kline, Emily Owlett, Devin Robertson, Kenzi Perry and Maci Perry; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Kara VanNess of Middlebury Center, PA, Philip and Cheri VanNess of Mainesburg, PA; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Maureen Dexter, Sylvia Brewer, Linda and Martin Wright, Debbie and George Myers, all of Wellsboro, PA; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Jessie. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. to noon at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S.
