Obituary of Thomas Merton Johnston

Thomas Merton Johnston, age 84, of Morris, PA, died Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home. He was born January 1, 1932 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Merton and Margaret (Janeski) Johnston. Thomas worked as a mechanic at Borden's Milk Plant in Wellsboro before he retired. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Jersey Shore, PA; enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, tinkering and fixing things. He was married to the late Beverly M. (Teed) Johnston. Thomas is survived by 3 sons, Dalton (Roberta) Johnston of Oregon Hill, PA, James (Barbara) Johnston of Wellsboro, PA, William (Lisa) Johnston of Osceola, PA; 2 daughters, Gloria Merritt of Liberty, PA, Carole (Dennis) Mast of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Ron Johnston of Wellsboro, PA; brother-in-law, John "Pete" Kline of Stony Fork, PA; 13 grandchildren; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, a son, John, a sister, Sandy Kline. Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Oregon Hill Cemetery.
