Obituary of Clair Milton Rogers
Clair M. Rogers, age 87, of Covington, PA, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Clair was the husband of Mary L. (Yoder) Rogers. He was born June 29, 1919 in Newfield, NY. He was the adopted son of Ross and Lilly Rogers. Clair was the owner and operator of the Covington Barber Shop for 50 years. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, watching and feeding the birds. He was a member of the Covington Church of Christ. Clair was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Europe during WW II.
Clair is survived by his wife, Mary; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald C. and Beverly Rogers of Seneca, SC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and R. Duane Seymour of Mainesburg, PA, and Janice and Marshall Updike of Big Flats, NY; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; two brothers, Merle Starks of Catlin Hollow, PA, Alvin Starks of Mansfield, PA; two sisters, Audrey Harvey of Mansfield, PA, Thelma Wheeler of Roxbury, NY; several nieces and nephews. Clair was preceded in death by two brothers, Aurthur and Minor Starks.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Covington Church of Christ, Rte. 15, Covington, PA with the Rev. Ira Hindman, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Liberty, PA. The family will provide the flowers.
