Obituary of Nellie Rose Howe
Nellie Rose Howe, age 101, of Dunkirk, NY, formerly of Wellsboro, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, NY. She was born January 22, 1915 in Elmira, NY, a daughter of Homer William and Anna Jane (Baumgardner) Wheeler. Nellie was the widow of Josiah Harvey Howe who passed away in 2000. She had worked at Mansfield University in the Food Department.
Nellie is survived by a daughter, Maxine Hoffman of Dunkirk, NY; a brother, Robert Wheeler of Wellsboro, PA; a sister, Alice Geraldine Congdon of Millerton, PA; 1 granddaughter, Michele Droubay; 2 great grandchildren, Stephanie (Blake) Johnson and Mathew McCoy; a great great granddaughter, Alyssa Michele Johnson. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a great grandson, Kendall McCoy, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating.
