Obituary of Robert Wayne Banker
Robert Banker, age 74, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. He was born on November 9, 1941 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of Wayne and Laura (Webster) Banker. He was the husband of Sharon (Wetherbee) Banker and would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on September 29th. Robert was employed with Corning Glass as a glass mechanic prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fly fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chris Campion of San Diego, CA; 2 step-sons, Tim Root of France, Jim Root of Modesto, CA; 2 grandchildren, Shannon and Sara; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Lucille Banker of Wellsboro, PA, Vernon and Carolyn Banker of Columbus, OH. He was predeceased by his parents, a step-father Lee Walker, and a sister, Jean Copp.
In keeping with Robert's wishes there will be a private graveside service held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to The American Lung Association, 738 S. Main St., Scranton, PA 18501.
