Obituary of Maxine Wilcox

Maxine Wilcox, age 84, of Covington, PA, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Country Terrace, Wellsboro, PA. She was born March 4, 1932 in Bratton Twp., Mifflin County, PA, a daughter of Lloyd and Dolly (Diehl) Peffer. Maxine celebrated 65 years of marriage on October 22, 2015 with her husband, Alfred W. Wilcox, Jr. She was a homemaker and Secretary/Tax Collector for Covington Township. Maxine was a member of the Covington Church of Christ, enjoyed spending time with her family, doing upholstery, sewing, and flower gardens. Maxine is survived by her husband, Alfred; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, George and Brenda Wilcox of Millville, PA, Samie Wilcox of Covington, PA; 5 grandchildren, Samantha (Jerry Ogden) Wilcox, Daniel (Stefania) Wilcox, Christie (Paul) Blackwell, Kasey (Joshua) Mastellar, Trisha Wilcox; 2 great grandchildren, Karah and Carly Blackwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Donna Peffer of Mainesburg, PA; a sister, Alice Gohn of TN. She was predeceased by a son, Arthur Lloyd Wilcox in Sept. 1986; daughter-in-law, Christine Wilcox and several brothers and sisters. A private graveside service will be held with Rev. Michele Somerville officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Country Terrace Activities Fund, 1919 Shumway Hill Rd., Wellsboro, PA 16901 or a Local Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
