Obituary of Debra L. Owen

Debra L. Owen, age 56, of Tioga, PA, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, January 25, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 20, 1959 in Corning, NY, a daughter of Lewis and Alice (Owlett) McConnell. She was predeceased by her husband, James Owen in 2010. Debra was a member of the East Lawrence Baptist Church; enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts, scrapbooking, yard sales and music. She was an artist, cook, and housekeeper. Debra's greatest achievement was being a mother. She is survived by her mother, Alice (Owlett) Brockway of Lawrenceville, PA; a son; James Neal (Amber Abbey) Owen II of Tioga, PA; two daughters, Sheena (Josh) Newcomb of Tioga, PA, and Tyra Owen of Portland, OR; 5 grandchildren, Trever, Emma, Gabriella, Josiah, Miakoda; a special friend and companion, Tom Fay; brothers, John (Joan) McConnell of Horseheads, NY, Jerry (Peggy) McConnell of Freeville, NY, Jeffrey McConnell of Chandler, AZ and Lewis (Mary) McConnell of Germantown, MD; sister, Suzanne (Richard) Vester of Lenexa, KS, half-brothers and sisters, Stephen (Susan) McConnell of FL, Cheryl McGraw of Hayden, AL, Donna McConnell of Sanford, FL; step-sisters, Ginny Mallacoccio of Ashboro, NC, Peggy Miles of Painted Post, NY, Penny Leonard, Lindley, NY, Nancy Fish of Elkland, PA; step-brother, Howard Brockway, Jr., Dansville, NY; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Debra was predeceased by her father, Lewis McConnell, Sr. and a step-father, Howard Brockway, Sr. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Scott Burke and Pastor Joshua O'Neil officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
