Obituary of Ednamae Bradley
Ednamae Bradley (Buckbee) (Phillips), 94, of Tioga, PA, passed away November 13, 2015. She was devoted to her family, friends, and pets. Our lives are the richer for her love. Ednamae was born in Tioga to Burton and Edna Mae Buckbee, and graduated from Mansfield University with a major in Music Education. While there she loved playing her silver clarinet in the wartime all-girls jazz band.
She spent a few years teaching music full-time during WWII and continued teaching part-time for many years to come. In 1946 Ednamae married Courtney Beach Phillips, Jr., also from Tioga. They lived a short time in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Rochester, NY where they raised their family of 6 children. Following Courtney's passing in 1975, she moved back to Tioga to care for her aging father. There she met and married an old friend from high school days, Earl Bradley of Elmira, NY. They enjoyed their time together before Earl passed away in 1995.
She is survived by children Courtney (Marge) Phillips, Kristen (Philip) Evans, Burton (Bobbi) Phillips, Mary D'Ambrosio (Daniel), Glenda (Richard) Chiaramonte, and Andrea Howard, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Interment will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA on November 23 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree or flowers in memory of Ednamae or lend support to your local pet rescue organization. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S.
