Obituary of John Deming
John "Jack" A. Deming, Jr., age 74, of Lawrenceville, PA, went to join his wife Judy and his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. He was born on July 25, 1940 in Elmira, NY to John A. Sr., and Elizabeth (Woodford) Deming. A 1958 graduate of Williamson High School, Tioga, PA, he married the girl with the greatest smile in school, Judy Ann Adriance in 1960. Jack was employed by Ingersoll Rand and Dresser Rand in Painted Post, NY, as a CNC Programmer for 42 years until his retirement in 2002.
Jack was an active member of the East Lawrence Baptist Church and was baptized in the Tioga River as a youth. In his late twenties, Jack's love of precision rifle accuracy led him to the sport of Benchrest Shooting. His competitive spirit and drive led him to winning several national championships and many world records. He was a past president of the South Creek Rod & Gun Club and past president of International Benchrest Shooters. When his eyesight began to fail he started restoring John Deere Tractors and showing them; showing soon became boring and he graduated to pulling tractors and building competition engines up until his passing. There is a special ranch in central Montana that was near and dear to his heart. The elk and white tailed deer hunting were spectacular and he took some superb trophies. In his later years the month of May was spent with his wife Judy on nearby lakes fishing crappie with great success. Jack and Judy are well remembered by their church family and friends for their delicious, fun time crappie fish fries.
Jack is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Jacqueline "Jackie" and Tim Snyder of Painted Post, NY; Amy Deming of St. James City, FL; 2 grandchildren, Mario Trizzino and Jessie Horton; a sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and George Stickler of Lawrencville, PA. He was predeceased by his wife, Judy, on May 6, 2015.
