Obituary of Joseph J. Smith

Joseph J. Smith, age 81, of Covington, PA, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Joseph was born May 27, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Joseph and Agnes (Happ) Smith. He and his wife, Dolores F. (Wallace) Smith, would have celebrated 63 years together on June 28th. Joseph was a retired contractor for Smith and Turner General Contractors. He enjoyed working outside, cooking, baking, building things, hunting, and watching the Eagles play football. In addition to his wife, Dolores, he is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Donna Smith of Quakertown, PA, Jason and Brenda Smith of Mansfield, PA; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Dona and Joseph Donato of Jamison, PA, Deann Oakes of Blossburg, PA; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Bee of Trevose, PA. He was predeceased by a son, Jarred Smith in 1972, and a brother, Francis Smith in 2013. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
