Nanny Quay, As my children called her was as loved by my family as a grandmother. Nanny began to take care of my children,Bobby, Karen and later Maureen in Sept. of 1966 when Karen was only six months old. Maureen was born in l968 and Edna worked for another teacher for a year and then came back to us for about 12 years. Edna or Nanny Quay was a part of our family. We all loved her and my children enjoyed riding in her volkswagon car over to visit the animals at the farm house. Edna took such good care of us. She cleaned our house up-stairs on Thursdays and downstairs on Fridays, did all of our laundry and just made us feel loved. I will never forget the day I was visiting her house with my Mother and we forgot to turn off the alarm system which was a quiet one and the next thing we knew there were police their with their guns drawn on us. Edna was a true lady, she is responsible for having helped to raise my children and they have been very successful in life, never having gotten into trouble as they had good values and knew they were loved by their family and Nanny Quay. I have felt awful that I stopped receiving cards from Edna quite a while ago and I thought perhaps she had died and just was talking about her within the past three days to a friend and said how I wish I knew what happened to her and there was the answer in the paper. Without your Mother I never could have managed, nor could I have spent the quality of time with my children without her help. When my husband and I divorced she continued to help me with the children and it was so nice to have help and the caring of such a wonderful woman. If I had not been able to turn my children over to your Mother's care I never would have been able to work and could never have held on to this house after my divorce if I did not make the money I did due to her help. So you see she influenced our lives in so many ways and contributed to our well being. Nanny was our angel on earth and my children's third grand parent that make a huge impact on our lives. We are sorry she is gone, but know that she is with her Lord in Heaven and at peace. Suzanne Reilley Adams
